There was much talk about Winnipeg’s signing of the NFL starter prior to the 2002 training camp. Well, Sellersgave people much more talk about after his remarkable debut performance in Week 1 vs. Toronto. He made three catches for 50 yards, one rush for three yards and a first down, and two special teams tackles. The highlight of his night was a reception where Sellers hurdled two on-coming Argo defenders to forge a 44-yard gain.

In 2003 with the Bombers, Sellers had 48 catches for 481 yards and 86 carries for 427 yards and seven touchdowns. He was named an Inter-Gold All-Star at fullback for a second straight season.

He spent the 1993 season at Walla Walla, where he was an All-America linebacker, then he dropped out of school to help his ailing mother, Crystal.
Sellers sat out of football the following year, then was headed for Portland State, but he went to the CFL instead and at age 19 made the Edmonton Eskimos as the youngest player in league history. Mike was injured in training camp in 1995 but returned to the club for the '96 season.
After three seasons with Edmonton playing linebacker, tight end, fullback, defensive end and nose guard, Sellers signed with the Washington Redskins in 1998 as a free agent. He played three seasons for Washington, then spent part of the 2001 season with the Cleveland Browns before being released. From there Sellers went to Winnipeg to play for the Bombers.
